This 10 day event is a domestication of the annual AfNOG Workshop on Network Technology (www.afnog.org) and will include two days for meetings and the Annual Conference on ICTs and Education.

ngNOG Workshop on Network Technology
ngNOG Workshop on Network Technology offers training in Five Parallel Tracks to those who are in the process of developing and enhancing an Internet-connected network with local and international connectivity. The target audience includes mid-level and senior technical staff of research and education networks, public and private networks, commercial Internet Service Providers (ISPs), NGOs and other stakeholders.
System Administration: focused on using a Unix-like operating system as a platform for delivery of Internet services.
Internet Services: focused on the design and operation of email, web, and other Internet services, in ways that can scale to handle large numbers of end users.
Internet Infrastructure: focused on the design and operation of networks using routers and switches, in ways that can scale to handle large numbers of interconnected sites.
Energy Planning and Appropriate Power Technology: focused on Energy Planning for Networks, backups, and alternative power technologies for networks in energy-challenged environments.
ICT Strategy and Management: focused on Strategies for managing departments and units that provide ICT Services in an organization
Interested applicants should kindly note that applications will be closed on Saturday, 4th October, 2008.
Tutorials will be held on 22-23 November, 2008 at the Center for Information Technology and Systems of the University of Lagos.
Tutorials are technical workshops which focus on a particular subject in-depth and are generally non-commercial in nature. Tutorials take place in a classroom-style environment, and may include a hands-on practical component. They are intended to offer advanced training relating to technology and best practices already deployed or soon to be deployed on networking and related services provisioning for ISP operations.

3rd ngNOG Meeting and Conference on ICTs & Education
The 3rd ngNOG Conference and Meeting will be held at the Afe Babalola Hall of the University of Lagos on 24-25 November, 2008.
The conference is modeled after AfNOG (African Network Operators Group www.afnog.org) conferences and the ICTs and Education Conferences that was initiated by the University of Jos in 2003. The meetings consist of engineering staff from network service providers, managers from IT enterprises, policy makers, regulatory bodies, and senior members and administrators of the research and education community.
Presentations or panel discussions may range in length from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Those interested in making a presentation or chairing a panel discussion at the ngNOG meetings are invited to submit a proposal, following the instructions at http://forum.org.ng/ngnog/conference
