ngNOG Workshop on Network Technology
ngNOG Workshop on Network Technology offers training in Five Parallel Tracks to those who are in the process of developing and enhancing an Internet-connected network with local and international connectivity. The target audience includes mid-level and senior technical staff of research and education networks, public and private networks, commercial Internet Service Providers (ISPs), NGOs and other stakeholders.
System Administration: focused on using a Unix-like operating system as a platform for delivery of Internet services.
Internet Services and Applications: focused on the design and operation of email, web, applications, and other Internet services, in ways that can scale to handle large numbers of end users.
Internet Infrastructure: focused on the design and operation of networks using routers and switches, in ways that can scale to handle large numbers of interconnected sites.
Energy Planning and Appropriate Power Technology: focused on Energy Planning for Networks, backups, and alternative power technologies for networks in energy-challenged environments.
ICT Strategy, Policy and Management: focused on Strategies for managing departments and units that provide ICT Services in an organization

Tutorials will be held on 14 November, 2009 at the Geology Complex of the University of Ilorin’s Permanent site.
Tutorials are technical workshops which focus on a particular subject in-depth and are generally non-commercial in nature. Tutorials take place in a classroom-style environment, and may include a hands-on practical component. They are intended to offer advanced training relating to technology and best practices already deployed or soon to be deployed on networking and related services provisioning for ISP operations.

4th ngNOG Meeting
The 4th ngNOG Meeting will also hold at the Geology Complex of the University of Ilorin’s Permanent site, on 15 November, 2009.
The meeting is also modeled after AfNOG (African Network Operators Group www.afnog.org) meeting. The meeting consists of delegates to the ngNOG Workshop, but also other engineering staff from network service providers, managers from IT enterprises, policy makers, regulatory bodies, and senior members and administrators of the research and education community.
Presentations or panel discussions may range in length from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Those interested in making a presentation or chairing a panel discussion at the ngNOG meeting are invited to express interest by submitting a proposal as described at http://forum.org.ng/ngnog/conference
