[VoIP] Change of Name?

Omo and all,

may I propose that the name of this list (Nigerian University Phone
System, NUPS) be modified so that colleagues from other Nigerian Research
& Education Institutions do not feel excluded or alienated? Everyone
should feel free to suggest his/her idea, modify or accept the suggestion
made below (actually, by someone else):

a) REPS (Research and Education Phone System), or
b) NREPS (Nigerian Research and Education Phone System)

best,

aminu

If there are no suggestions, is anyone in opposition to (b)?. I think the Nigerian in NREPS may be required.

[VoIP] Change of Name?

Is NREN phone system any worse?
In place even before the NREN.

[VoIP] Change of Name?

Len and all,

(NREN Phone System as NREN alone will confuse, an extended short-name like
NRENPS sounds complicated.)

actually, upon further reflection, it'd be better if (for lists, anyway) a
name that is intuitive is selected. so why not simply "VoIP" or
"telephony"?

that way, one wouldn't need to do research to figure out what the list is
about. of these, the more general "telephony" might be a better/ truer
option and less contentious.

my other comment can still be taken in to account simply by editing the
information pages so that everyone from the research & education system
feels at home.
