AfREN Meeting
Submitted by Visitor on Sat, 2008-10-11 07:58.The Africa Research and Education Networking community will be holding a two-day meeting on 16 - 17 May 2009 in Cairo, Egypt. The meeting will discuss issues of interest to the NREN community such as coordination on activites in the region, advocacy, bandwidth consortia, regional RENs etc.

Call for Tutorial Presentations
The Nigerian Network Operators' Group (ngNOG) invites Expressions of Interest from individuals and organizations who wish to teach a tutorial between Saturday 14 November, 2009, at the 4th ngNOG event that will hold at the University of Ilorin.
Venue
The tutorials would be held at the Geology Centre of the University of Ilorin Saturday 14 November, 2009.
About the Tutorials
Tutorials are technical workshops which focus on a particular subject in-depth and are generally non-commercial in nature. Tutorials take place in a classroom-style environment, and may include a hands-on practical component. They are intended to offer advanced training relating to technology and best practices already deployed or soon to be deployed on networking and related services provisioning for ISP operations.

The 7th EuroAfrica-ICT awareness workshop - University of Lagos
Submitted by admin on Thu, 2008-01-17 11:24.The 7th EuroAfrica-ICT awareness workshop will be held at the University of Lagos, Nigeria on February 20 & 21, 2008. It is organized by the Panos Institute West Africa ( PIWA), part of the EuroAfrica-ICT consortium. This two-day event will draw among 70 local and West African (Ghana, Senegal, Sierra Leone) delegates representing universities, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) companies, public institutions, Non Governmental Organizations, the European Commission and international and regional organizations dealing with ICT. This workshop will be co-prepared by PIWA and its locals partners: the Centre for Information Technology and Systems of the University of Lagos and the National Centre for Technology Management - NACETEM. This event is up to be supported by the Lagos State Government as Special Guest of Honor.

Conference
Funding under the "Science and Technology Education Post-Basic" (STEP-B) Project
Submitted by aminu on Thu, 2007-08-02 09:20.The Nigeria ICT Forum organized a "Resource and Strategy" seminar on 24th July, 2007, on "Advanced Academic Computing for Science & Technology Teaching and Research Collaboration".
The seminar was attended by 84 delegates from Universities (26), Colleges (7), Research Institutes (5), the Public Service (15), Development Agencies and Non-Governmental Institutions (9), and the Private Sector (22).
The purpose remains to stimulate the collaborative development of comprehensive proposals (by Research and Education Institutions, Professional societies, NGOs and the Private Sector) for funding under the Federal Ministry of Education's "Science and Technology Education Post-Basic" (STEP-B) Project.

The Nigerian Network Operators Group (ngNOG) invites applications from persons, associations and organizations who wish to contribute to, or make a presentation, or chair a panel discussion at the 2nd ngNOG Meeting and Conference scheduled to hold at the Bayero University, Kano (BUK) on 23rd and 24th November 2007.
Background
ngNOG is organising a 6-day event that includes the ngNOG Workshop on Network Technology (offering advanced training in a four-day long hands-on workshop) and a two-day ngNOG Meeting and Conference. Further information and background about the event may be found here
